We are a small Church of England school in the village of East End, just outside Woolton Hill, south of Newbury. The school has a strong Christian ethos, and strong links with the church of St Martin’s in East Woodhay.

All children in our school are known to all staff as individuals and we take time to get to know our children well. We regard each one as unique and  seek to support and nurture them in both their educational and personal progress. We also enjoy getting to know you all as families too.

We are proud of our school and our many achievements. We are a high attaining school, usually achieving high standards in national tests with all children making good progress; we cater well for our most able children as well as providing good learning for our less able children. We are eager to provide a broad range of opportunities for our children so we get involved in a wide range of extra activities, including sports, creative arts and music. We have excelled in a variety of sports and achieved awards in recognition of this success, including the Basingstoke and Deane Sports School of the Year award and the GOLD School Games Award. We are a ‘Healthy School’ and an ‘Eco School’. We have an active School Council; the voice of our school children is important to us. There are also various clubs and extra activities, before during and after school, that children can choose to join if they wish. The school runs its popular After School Club on site during term time.

Our parents get involved in the life of the school, supporting school events well. We encourage an open relationship with parents and we are always keen to share our children’s successes and discuss any concerns. Our School Association arranges many social and fund-raising events throughout the school year, all well attended, and the funds raised are carefully spent on additional resources for our children’s benefit along with subsidies for a range of school trips and activities.

If you wish to visit the school, or to talk to the Headteacher or another member of staff, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We hope you will appreciate everything that our school, and its community, have to offer!
