Woohoo It's Halfterm!

23rd October 2020
Woohoo! We made it - it is officially half term. I am very aware that we had many tired children (and staff!) today, who are definitely in need of a break!
However I am incredibly proud of what everyone has achieved this term. The children have had to cope with a huge amount and adjust to new ways of learning and playing in school. However, they have shown huge resilience and I have been blown away with how quickly they have adapted and the way they have settled right back into school.
I have heard from many other headteachers in Hampshire where the children are struggling, both in terms of emotions and behaviour and are just not ready to learn again. However that does not appear to be the case here. Yes, we've had a few children who have had the odd wobble, but you've kept us informed and we have been able to work together to support them through it. Generally our children are calm, settled and fully focussed on their learning, which means they are making great progress, despite the time missed from school last year. I think that's because of the way we all work together as a partnership, staff, children and parents, both now and during the lockdown period - we make a great extended team!
We hope you all have a lovely half term and can't wait to see you all back in school on Monday 2nd November.
