St Martin's Church

Our parish church, St Martin's, is in East Woodhay and we enjoy very close links with the church community. There are many events during the school year where we support each other's services and the children always enjoy their involvement in the rich opportunities this provides. Typically these include:

- Our harvest celebration in school (October)
- Remembrance Sunday - wreath laying
- St Martin's Day - 11 November (school service at church)
- Christmas Advent activities and Carol Service (events in school and church)
- Mothering Sunday (service in church)
- Easter service (school service at church)
- Pentecost activities (events in school)
- School Eucharist Service (held in school, June/July)
- Leavers Service (service at school)

One of the main school events held in St Martin's church is the annual service on St Martin's Day, 11 November. The children enjoy retelling the story of St Martin through drama and song, and remind everyone of the beautiful stained glass window in the church which depicts St Martin when he cuts his cloak in half to help a beggar (shown on this page).
