A message from Bukuya!

Following Rev'd Dodie's worship with the whole school this week, Mrs Rennison has shared with the children a message from Mr Adonia, the headteacher at Bukuya school, during her worships this week. If you would like to watch the message yourselves, it can be found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ4CIdfSx48

We know that in places, it is very difficult to understand, so have included a transcript below:

Good Afternoon to everyone at St Martin’s Church of England Primary School.
I bring greetings from Bukuya Church of Uganda Primary School.
My name is Adonia and I have been at Bukuya for 2 years.
This last year Rev Dodie came to visit us and told us about the sad death of one of your staff.
This was followed by a visit from one of your pupils and his mother and we organised the planting of a mango tree in Sarah’s memory. It is well and thriving.
We have recently heard that we will be receiving a new latrine with money from East Woodhay and our parents are very appreciative of this kindness and they have arranged for our school community to help this project.
This will reduce the cost for us.
Our church is right next door to the school so we can share the facilities.
We are very grateful to you for your support and love

For those of you new to St Martin's, the member of staff who he mentions, was actually a Year 6 (2018 - 2019) parent, who was very involved in raising money for Bukyua school, when her children attended St Martin's.
