Welcome to St Martin's

Welcome to St Martin's!

Choosing a school for your child is a big decision.  Parents and carers usually look at a school website, read the OFSTED report, look at results, talk to other parents and carers and do everything they can to find out about the school before making their decision.  I always encourage parents and carers to come and visit St Martin's and to look around our school.  This way you get a feel for our school and the way staff and children interact and learn together.  I always encourage parents to think about whether they can imagine their little boy or little girl being happy in our school, because if a child is happy, they will thrive, which is what any parent wants for their child.  Our open day is on Monday 6th November and more details are in the flier below:

In order to try to help you get a feel for our school, we have put together the following short films:
*Open meeting - a presentation by the headteacher and deputy headteacher about our school and what makes us special.  This was put together when we were unable to welcome prospective parents into school for our usual open day due to Coronavirus.
*Tour of the school - a virtual tour of our school, led by our school ambassadors.  Again this was put together, when we were unable to welcome visitors into school.
*'Welcome to Cherry class' film - this film was made by our Year R team to welcome our new year Year R.

Please be aware that all these films are 'home-made'.  We are not professionals, so at times the lighting and sound are not as clear as we would like.  We are aware that some schools have paid professionals to produce films for open events.  As a small school, our budget is small, and we would always prioritise spending on the children and their learning.  However we hope the films we've put together give you a real feel for our school.

It is also worth looking at the class pages on this website, especially the Cherry class page, which also include lots of information about life at St Martin's school.

If you have any questions, or just fancy a chat, after watching these films and looking at our website, please feel free to call or email us and we will arrange a convenient time to talk.
