The P.E. and Sport Premium funding is additional funding given to publicly funded primary-age schools to assist schools in improving the quality of the P.E. and sports activities they are able to offer their pupils. The amount of funding any school receives is dependent on how many pupils are eligible for the funding, based on data from the January school census.
The school is provided with a lump sum, with additional funding on a per-pupil basis, depending on the number of eligible pupils on-roll for the January census.
The Headteacher and Governing Body then decide how the money is used to support the children’s P.E. and sports activities.
All schools are required to report on the amount of funding received, how it is used and the impact of the work undertaken.
