St Martin's Orchard!

12th March 2021
Yesterday the Stewards of God's Earth group, planted two apple trees on the edge of our school field. This comes from one of their first meetings this year when they were talking about what they could do to look after God's Earth and one of the children suggested that we could plant some fruit trees, both to encourage wildlife and so that they could enjoy the fruit. When this was shared at a governors meeting, Mrs Rowe offered to donate two apple trees in order to start our St Martin's Orchard. After a lot of research and a visit from the Hampshire School's tree expert, we identified a suitable location on the side of the school field and yesterday planted two apple trees - one eater and one cooker! The tree expert has also promised to donate two pear trees (to match the apple trees donated) and we are just waiting to hear when these will arrive!
