Birthday gifts

We have been asked by a parent if it is possible for them to send in a small gift for the children in their child's class, as their birthday falls in the new lockdown and there is therefore no chance of having a party, and we aren't currently bringing things in on the day to be given out as they have to quarantine (plus we have said not to bring things in from home).

Mrs Bartlett and I have discussed this one and we feel that especially now with the new lockdown, being able to give out a small gift, if the child wants to and you are happy with it, is also alright with us. Please don't feel this is a must; it is only if it's something you want to do. If you do choose to go down this route, please can you:

1) Make sure the gifts go into the quarantine box early enough to be quarantined for 48 hours before they are given out
2) Label it so that it's clear who it is for, and the date of their birthday so we know which day it should be handed out
3) Make sure it's non-edible and is only a small token gift - suggestions from parents have been pencils, rubbers, small key chains etc

We hope this helps to make some children's lockdown birthdays a little bit better!
