Residential update Oct 25 - Monday PM

Residential update Monday PM:

We are here! The coach arrived safely at 12.15. We were lucky enough to be able to take our things straight to our rooms rather than store them for later. Unfortunately some of our children did not complete the obligatory ‘how to corner with a pulley suitcase’ pre-training so some of our children are minus a few toes, however we think they’ll still be ok for activities.

All children are happy with room allocations as everyone is with at least one person from their list they gave us. I have even had some thank yous for the allocations. We have had lunch in a very noisy indoor sports court which was loud but luckily short. We’ve now all got in our activity groups (everyone also seemed happy with these) and gone off to their first two activities, which for all three groups are archery and zip wire!

Any children that struggled first thing or were upset to say goodbye, are all doing really well. So try not to worry, I promise we will look after them. And at the moment we fully intend to bring almost all of them home. Some years it’s even 100%! # teachergoals…

I was able to work it to bring Ms Mendivil, Mrs Greenwood and Miss Payne, which means they can be with the activity groups and I can do some ‘headteachering’ whilst they are busy, which means I hopefully won’t get too behind on the day job. It also means coffee, I hope, as I’ve yet to have one today, and there’s still dinner, evening activities and wrangling 30 children to bed tonight, before the day is over.

I am happy to report that there are not, yet, any unclaimed pants on the floor. This feels like a small success. Please keep us in your prayers for this to continue!

I will post updates on here and also on the school website under news. I will try to post twice a day, one mid morning and one after I have them all to sleep. So, tonight, don’t expect to hear from me till… 3am?!

Wish us luck!
