The Y6 Leavers' Service 2020 is now available on the school website, in a new special section called Y6 Leavers' Service 2020.
We filmed this in St Martin's Church; as you know, we weren't able to have parents on school site. Each family was allocated a seating space, all within social distancing parameters. Each child was able to share a memory of their time at St Martin's, and then Mrs Bartlett talked about each child individually. Then each child collected their pile of gifts; a photo, a leavers book, a bible from St Martin's Church and a book of their choice as a gift from the school (e.g. a french dictionary, an atlas, etc).
It is not currently permitted to sing in churches, so, as you know, we recorded the Y6 children singing some songs. During the service, we instead played recordings of these songs!
In order to get the service, which was a full hour, onto the website, it is recorded in parts, but you should be able to watch each part in turn, and the songs are on the website in the right places - it should all make sense!
We hope you enjoy it. We will leave this on the website for a week before taking it down.
